The Final Run – Nutrition Tips

With nearly two weeks remaining in the Partner Challenge, we want to be sure to capitalize on every day remaining.  Here are some insightful tips & strategies that will send your results into 6th gear!

  • Egg Overload

If there is one single habit that has been remarked about the most, it is the breakfast habit.  With that, the food selection that has been discussed the most is the eggs!  The best way to decide on how to make substitutions is to have an exact idea of the nutrient breakdown of the egg portion itself.  Here it is…

2 Whole Eggs w/ ¾ cup egg whites = 31g protein/10g fat/0 carbs

3 Whole Eggs w/ 1 cup egg whites = 43g protein/15g fat/0 carbs

There is protein to replace if you choose to steer clear of the eggs, but realize that there are also fats to replace.

  • Out of Time

If you find you simply lack the time to stick w/ 2-3 whole food meals and 1-2 protein shakes per day, replace one of the whole food meals with an additional shake.  Do you want to be doing this every day?  No.  But it will ensure you keep on track with your protein and food compliance.  Missed meals add up quickly.

  • Silent Treatment

The quieter that you remain regarding your bi-weekly report/progress, the more I will suspect that you are not being 90% compliant.  In addition, those that offer questions are offered the opportunity for feedback, and therefore a coach who is able to make play calls.  Changes to the plan are a real possibility and will offer us the best potential for a real result – but I need to know where you stand.

  • Performance Enhancement

Not likely what first comes to mind, but it’s important to mention that when practicing sound nutrition your workout performance and recovery should greatly improve.  Be sure that you are capitalizing on this and not going ‘soft’ with your resistance selections.  As a Coach who has full knowledge on the benefits of nutrition and its effect on workout performance/recovery, I am going to be working you a little harder (safely).

  • Partner Check-In

Have you checked in with your PARTNER lately?  If not, you are missing an opportunity to share progress and questions.  You never know-maybe your partner has the exact reassurance that you need to remain calm and focused these final two weeks.  Share food ideas, share difficulties, and then hold each other ‘extra’ accountable!
